OnePlus 15 on sale from mid-November

If the information from the rumour circuit is true, OnePlus will release its new '15' worldwide in mid-November. Earlier, it became clear that OnePlus plans to announce its high-end smartphone for the Chinese market before the end of this month. This is not very different from previous years; as the manufacturer always presents its smartphone for home country China first, and a few months later for the global market. This year, OnePlus might opt for a different strategy.

According to new information, the announcement in China will be on 13 October. A month later, on 13 November, the smartphone will then be in shops. But that release would not just apply to China, but be global in scope. That, in turn, would mean that the device would also hit shelves in the Netherlands and Belgium on 13 November. With that, there is already a successor to the OnePlus 13 in ten months' time. The new design of the OnePlus 15 was already shared by the brand this week. There was talk of a new special coating.

The OnePlus 15 will be one of the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset; a processor we have so far only seen on the Xiaomi 17 series. That smartphone series has not yet been announced for Europe. There is also talk of a 6.78-inch OLED screen offering a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. By the way, this would not be a screen that continues on the side, but flat. There would be three cameras present; a standard, wide-angle and telephoto 50-megapixel lens. OnePlus has previously announced that it is using its own camera system, which means it is no longer partnering with Hasselblad. However, the telephoto lens would be a smaller sensor than before, where, on the contrary, many brands opt for a larger sensor.

Where we can also potentially expect major changes is battery capacity. While the OnePlus 13 already had 6000 mAh, the OnePlus 15 should have a 7300 mAh battery; a huge capacity. Charging would be via 120W, while you can also quickly wirelessly charge the device with 50W.

We expect all the details in the coming weeks. DroidApp will keep you updated on this. For now, you can find the OnePlus 13 for under $800. What we think of the current flagship, we'll tell you in the OnePlus 13 review. You can find the current prices via the button below, on the device page.
