Made with... not the Nothing Phone (3)
The Nothing Phone (3) is the company's high-end smartphone for this year. We put the new smartphone through its paces earlier in the Nothing Phone (3) review. The company is proud of its product, but perhaps a little too enthusiastic. The brand shared photos supposedly taken with the latest model, but now it turns out that certain photos were not taken with the smartphone at all. This is not unique; Samsung has previously come under scrutiny for a similar form of deception for the Galaxy A8, and with Huawei, the same happened for the promotion of the Huawei P9.

An anonymous tipster shared a screenshot of a demo app on the Nothing Phone (3) in a retail environment. Here, the lenses are promoted from the device, along with the text "Judge for yourself. This is what our community captured with the Phone (3)". However, the images shown were almost identical to photos from Stills. This is a stock photo database where others can buy photos from photographers. This while the impression was given that the photos were shot with the smartphone.

The photographer has been in touch with Android Police. The photo was taken with an expensive system camera, and not with the smartphone, as claimed by Nothing. Records of the transaction also show that the photo was purchased by Nothing. The photographer reveals that he is very disappointed that the photo was used in this context. In doing so, it is clear that stock photos have also been used in several other places to promote the Nothing Phone camera (3). Photos were also shared on Instagram, for example.
