Nothing Phone (4a) and Pro announced
Nothing has officially announced the new Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. With this new (4a) series, the brand aims to reshape the mid-range segment by combining a striking design with powerful performance, advanced cameras and extensive personalisation through the operating system. At Mobile World Congress, the brand already showed the colours of the smartphone.

Transparent design and sturdier build
The recognisable transparent design remains a key feature of the new devices. The Phone (4a) Pro has a metal unibody, flat surfaces and a thickness of 7.95 millimetres. This makes it the thinnest smartphone released by Nothing to date. The device also offers a new VC cooling system and IP65 protection against dust and water.
The Phone (4a) also retains its transparent design, with internal components visible under the glass. The device has a reinforced frame, upgraded metal buttons and IP64 protection. Both models also support immersion up to 25 centimetres for 20 minutes.

Nothing Phone (4a)
The camera
Photography plays a big role in the new series. The Phone (4a) Pro features a Sony LYT700c main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 50-megapixel periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom. The camera setup is complemented by a wide-angle lens and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Thanks to TrueLens Engine 4, the device supports Ultra XDR photos and 4K Ultra XDR video with HDR effects similar to Dolby Vision.
The Phone (4a) also gets a camera system with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel periscope lens with 3.5x zoom, an ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. These allow you to capture images from 0.6x to 70x zoom. AI features such as Ultra XDR photos, motion photos and an AI Photo Eraser help improve and edit images.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro
Glyph Interface and Nothing OS
The series builds on the Glyph Interface, Nothing's signature lighting system. The Phone (4a) gets a new Glyph Bar with 63 mini-LEDs that visually display notifications, timers, calls and charging status. The Phone (4a) Pro goes one step further with a Glyph Matrix of 137 mini-LEDs that can display notifications in even more detail. We know that technology from the Nothing Phone (3).
Both devices run on Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16. The software offers a revamped interface, floating apps for multitasking and an AI Dashboard for managing AI features. You will also receive three years of Android updates and six years of security updates.
Display, performance and battery
Nothing provides the Phone (4a) Pro with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5000 nits in HDR. The Phone (4a) has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution as well, but with an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate.
Under the bonnet, the Pro uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, while the Phone (4a) runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Both models have a 5080mAh battery and support 50W fast charging, which can charge the battery to 60 per cent in about 30 minutes.
