Nothing Phone (3) with December update
If you own the Nothing Phone (3), you can expect a major update for the device from now on. The phone, which we previously reviewed in detail in the Nothing Phone (3) review, is getting improvements for the Glyph Toys, among other things. This is the monochrome screen on the back. You can now choose to see the battery percentage in a number, and you can choose to have that screen always on. In your pocket, however, it should then be switched off again.

Also, the December security update comes with the device. Distributed as of now, the update brings even more improvements. We have put down the changelog of the update for you below.
Visual improvements
- The battery percentage icon has been updated and now shows the actual percentage.
- Optimised extra dark mode for better visual adaptation to more situations.
- Improved smoothness of the volume slider animation when adjusting volume using keys.
- Optimised sound wave and wheel animations in Recorder for a smoother experience.
General improvements and bug fixes
- Setting different ring tones for dual-SIM devices is now supported.
- The always-on Glyph Toy now always stays on until it is manually switched off.
- An issue where the in-car display could crash while using Android Auto has been fixed.
- Improved logic for detecting pocket mode for Glyph Interface.
- Vibration and haptic feedback have been optimised for more scenarios.
- Improved lock screen stability and Always On Display for better user experience.
- Improved mirror stability of Glyph in more camera scenarios.
- Fixed an issue where the video encoding setting reverted from H.265 to H.264 when switching between recording modes.
- An issue where the pedometer progress widget kept animating on the lock screen while Always On Display (AOD) was enabled has been fixed.
- Search speed for available Wi-Fi networks nearby has been improved.
- Improved overall system stability and smoothness.
- Updated to the December security patch.
