'New stylish Motorola goes into battle with OnePlus 15R' (renders)

A new smartphone from Motorola is going around the rumour circuit. Renders show the new smartphone with a stylish design. It is reportedly the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. The phone will compete with the upcoming OnePlus 15R.

Motorola opens attack on OnePlus

Renders of a yet unannounced smartphone from Motorola have appeared on the internet. According to rumours, Motorola will release the device under the name 'Motorola Edge 70 Ultra', which means the device will be part of the Edge 70 family. We recently published the extensive Motorola Edge 70 review. That device has thickness (or rather, lack thereof) as a key feature. Whether the same applies to this new device is unknown.

In the picture above, we can see the smartphone's new design, presumably featuring a flat screen with no sloping edges. The back seems to offer a distinctive texture, with the blue-coloured one looking a bit like jeans. It is not known if these are the only colours Motorola will release the device in. In the photos, we see the volume button and power button on the familiar side: on the right side of the phone. There also seems to be a button on the left, and it is quite possible that it is aimed at AI functionality.

The device will reportedly get the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which we will also start seeing in the OnePlus 15R. That device will be announced next week, on 17 December. Rumours further report a 1.5K OLED display, possibly 6.7 or 6.8 inches in size. The camera module offers a main camera, wide-angle and a periscope telephoto lens. From the factory, the device will run directly on Android 16. The new model will also come with 16GB of RAM memory.

Exactly when we will start seeing the new Motorola Edge 70 Ultra back is unknown. According to the report by AndroidHeadlines, the device will hit the market in early 2026.
