Moto Buds Loop review
So, Motorola has added this new Buds Loop to its range alongside the Moto Buds. In two different colours that is, Trekking Green and French Oak for a slightly fancier look. Because the latter is finished with Swarovski crystals. The box does not include a charging cable, however, the use of USB-C means that this need not be a problem.

The earphones clip around the ear and the little speaker then comes out into the ear, even when wearing glasses the Buds Loop are not in the way. In any case, the wearing comfort is fine and the earphones stay in place even during a brisk walk. Finished listening? Then easily stow them away in the case.

Sound quality
As for the sound itself, the earphones were developed in collaboration with Bose, a well-known player in the market when it comes to sound. When we then listen to the quality, we are once again positively surprised. While these are not in-ear or over-ear headphones, the sound still sounds clear. At times, bass response is good and warm, but when the music becomes an interplay of vocals and treble, bass response suffers. On the other hand, the midrange and thus the voices sound clear and intelligible.

If you want to pair multiple devices then you can, as the Moto Buds Loop has Multipoint support. This allows the Buds to switch from, for example, your smartphone to your tablet or laptop without any problems. In the Moto Buds app, you will also find an equaliser with 9 channels, gesture setting options and firmware updates.
The Moto Buds Loop will last a working day on a charge and by storing them back in the box, you will get a listening time of about 35 hours. To which Motorola itself adds that ten minutes of charging will get you another 2.5 to 3 hours of listening. Charging the case itself seems to take just over an hour.

Review
Looking for a set of earbuds where you don't completely lose contact with the environment around you like many in-ears do. Then the Moto Buds Loop are worth considering. However, the colour choice is a bit limited, and a neutral colour like white or black might not have been out of place either. The sound quality is certainly not bad for this type of earphones and you can enjoy your music well. If you do want a fuller bass sound then do look further. At 149 euros, the recommended retail price for the green variant is about a hundred euros lower than the Swarovski variant (249 euros).
You can shop for the Moto Buds Loop at Bol.com, Amazon and Mobile.
