Learning a language in Google Translate
If you want to learn a new language, you quickly end up with Duolingo. Although there are more apps to learn a language, such as the OkyDoky, Hello or Drops discussed with us earlier, the former is the most well-known. Now Google Translate is going to compete more with these well-known language-learning apps. Indeed, you can now learn a new language via Google's app. For this, you will find the 'Practice' option at the bottom of the Google Translate app.

According to Google, this allows you to practise your listening and speaking skills with personalised activities. Good to know is that, for now, it only works with the English language. From English, you can learn the languages German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. You can learn English from 20 different languages, including Dutch. Once you have chosen the desired practice language, give the reason why you want to learn a language. For example, because you want to get a job there, talk to people or go on holiday to a country. Based on your set goals, activities and exercises are personalised.

The functionality is now available in Google Translate's app. If you want to try it yourself, just open the app and follow the steps.
