Google Play system update September 2025: this is new

There are security updates, Android version updates and several other types of updates. The Google Play system updates also come along every month. Now, the September update has been released, with its accompanying new features. We list them.

Google Play update for September

For the month of September, Google previously released the September security update. That is not the only update ready for this month. In fact, Google has started rolling out the Google Play update. On the Pixel 10 Pro XL, among others, we already have it in here. In addition, it will roll in on other devices in the coming weeks. It may vary from device to device when the update can be downloaded for your device.

Google Play services v25.36 (15-09-2025)

Account management

  • [Auto] With this update, you now get improved engagement and discoverability for Login to Google in Automotive.
  • [Wear] You can now use the dashboard in Parental Controls with an expressive theme.

Developer services

  • [Phone] New features for app developers Google and third-party developers to support location and context-related processes in their apps.

Device connectivity

  • [Phone] This feature allows you to transfer supervised accounts to your new device via QuickStart.
  • [Phone, Wear] Bug fixes for device connectivity services.

System management

  • [Car, PC, Phone, TV, Wear] Updates to system management services that improve device performance.

  • [Phone] Users in South Korea will now find a dedicated entertainment section under Apps.
