Troubleshooting for Pixel
Google Pixel devices from the Pixel 6 onwards have been receiving the Android 17 update since yesterday evening. This new version brings a whole host of new features and improvements. In addition, Google has also implemented 38 bug fixes, which make the Pixel devices even better.
The changelog shared by Google details the fixes included in the update. We’ve listed them for you below.
Apps
- Fix for a system issue causing certain background processes to crash unexpectedly*[1]
- Fix for an issue where the ‘Backup settings’ option appears in search results but, under certain circumstances, does not open when selected *[5]
Audio
- Fix for an issue causing system instability and performance slowdowns when using Bluetooth audio devices*[1]
Battery and charging
- Fix for an issue that, under certain circumstances, causes slow wireless charging speeds when the battery level is between 75% and 80%*[1]
- Resolves an issue where, under certain circumstances, wireless and wired charging drivers do not initialise correctly during device start-up*[7]
Camera
- Fixes an issue with camera stability that causes the system to freeze under certain circumstances*[7]
- Fixes an issue causing the camera app to freeze when changing zoom levels whilst recording video*[5]
- Fixes an issue that causes the camera service to occasionally freeze, affecting overall system stability*[1]
Display and graphics
- Fixes an issue that, under certain circumstances, causes a white flickering dot at the top of the screen*[5]
- Fixes an issue that causes display or graphical errors on certain device models during normal use*[5]
- Fixes an issue that causes the device to freeze and become unresponsive when connected to an external display under certain circumstances*[3]
Face recognition
- Fix for an issue that could cause the device to freeze or crash when attempting to use face recognition under certain circumstances*[1]
Frame
- Fix for a camera stability issue that could cause the app to freeze unexpectedly whilst in use under certain circumstances*[5]
- Resolves an issue that causes location services to unexpectedly freeze and restart under certain circumstances*[7]
- Fix for an issue leading to memory leaks and performance issues, causing devices to become unresponsive or freeze*[1]
- Fixes an issue where the keyboard area becomes unresponsive and displays incorrect information after unlocking the device*[1]
- Fixes an issue that, under certain circumstances, could cause a system crash when rotating the screen*[1]
- Fixes an issue where the text input field in a notification bubble could unexpectedly disappear after rotating the device*[1]
- Fix to improve battery life and performance under certain circumstances*[1]
Location and GPS
- Fixes an issue that affects the accuracy of the GPS location and the reliability of the measurement during voice calls on certain network configurations*[5]
System
- Fix for a stability issue that could cause the device to restart unexpectedly during normal use*[7]
- Resolves an issue that causes system applications to crash during the device’s boot-up process under certain circumstances*[1]
- Fix for an issue that causes the device to freeze or display a black screen under certain circumstances*[1]
- Fixes an issue that prevented apps from correctly managing SIM card subscriptions and network provider settings under certain circumstances*[1]

- Fix for an issue that prevents certain devices from connecting to mobile networks or causes unexpected service interruptions under certain circumstances*[1]
