One UI 8.5 is on the way for the Galaxy S25
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy S25 series device, then good news seems to be coming. Indeed, the changelog of One UI 8.5 has appeared online, which is usually a sign that the update is not long in coming. Until now, S25 users had to make do with beta versions, while the Galaxy S26 series came with it. Now the update is being prepared for last year's high-end models.

The One UI 8.5 update brings several improvements. For starters, a refreshed interface. Think subtle transparency effects and floating elements that make the software look a bit more modern and dynamic. It's a style you might already be familiar with from newer Galaxy models, but now it's also coming to the S25.
Smart features are also being expanded. Galaxy AI gets new features, such as improved call filtering via Bixby and additional photo editing tools. For instance, you can use text to give directions to adjust images or even generate new visuals.
One of the most notable additions is the improved version of Quick Share. This gets a feature very reminiscent of AirDrop, making file sharing between Galaxy devices and iPhones, for example, easier. This makes sharing photos and files a lot more accessible, even outside its own ecosystem.

It also expands the "Now Brief" feature, giving you more relevant information and updates in an uncluttered way. Small improvements, but handy in everyday use.
While the changelog is promising, it remains to be seen when exactly the update will be rolled out. Leaks like this one usually give an indication that it won't be long, but an exact date is still missing.
