Xiaomi 18 Pro gets AI button
We don't expect the new Xiaomi 18 series for our region until sometime next year. Nevertheless, the rumour mill has now been cranked up. The manufacturer is working on the new Xiaomi 18 series, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro also mentioned. Good to know: the Pro models don't usually come to Europe, only the base version and the Ultra. Whether this changes with the Xiaomi 18 series is not known, but at least it gives an idea of what to expect with the other 18 models.
In fact, Xiaomi is placing a dedicated AI button, and we will presumably start seeing it on the other two devices, the Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Ultra. It is still unclear what the functions of this button will be. However, the button should be customisable, allowing users to activate AI "in any situation". It should control smart devices in the home, as well as Xiaomi's own EV.
The render also shows something else. As we saw at MWC on the Xiaomi 17 Pro (Max), the new device will also feature a screen at the back. In the preview linked earlier, read all about its features (and missing features).
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to launch with a 6.3-inch OLED screen. This along with two 200 megapixel lenses for the main camera and the telephoto lens, and a battery of over 7000 mAh. Also, the new device should offer wireless charging, as well as full waterproofing.
