Android in September
We brought back some much-needed news in September. Chief among them: our comprehensive weather app test 2025. Ten apps we tested for months in the search for the most accurate weather app in the Netherlands. It yielded another brilliant result. But there was more to report in the ninth month of the year.

In September, DroidApp travelled to Munich to attend the announcement of the Xiaomi 15T series, of which we also shared our 15T Pro preview. That wasn't the only thing announced, as we also saw HyperOS 3 and several new accessories. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 17 series was presented a day later for China. TomTom launched its new driving assistant Tom, Samsung the Galaxy S25 FE, Sony the Xperia 10 VII. Huawei showed the Watch GT 6 watches, Nothing the Ear (3) earbuds. In doing so, the brand showed the new Nothing OS 4.0 skin. Motorola showed a range of new devices, including the Edge 60 Neo.
Flashmeister is changing the terms and conditions with Pro users. From now on, it will only be possible to use the Flitsmeister Pro subscription on one device. Furthermore, we got to see the design of the OnePlus 15 at the end of the month.

Best apps
We have listed the best apps we have covered for you below.

Androidify
Finally, Androidify is back. The app died a quiet death a few years ago. Now the app is back, and even smarter than before. Namely, it uses AI. You can upload a photo of yourself (or someone else), after which Androidify converts it into your own Android character. If you don't want to upload a photo, you can also work with prompts, or commands, after which Androidify gets to work.

Google Maps
For many, Google Maps is an indispensable application in everyday life. That is no different here at the editorial office. With a new update for the Android apps, the maps app gets another little better. This is a subtle update that brings several Material 3 Expressive improvements. Among other things, we see this in the details at a location.

Spotify
If you're a free user of Spotify, then you'll appreciate the Swedish music service's new changes. From now on, instead of having to make do with the songs that the service itself serves up, you can choose your own songs from a playlist. However, other restrictions, such as the presence of ads, remain present in Spotify.
Telegram
Chatting can be done with a lot of different applications; simply through Google Messages, Messenger and, of course, WhatsApp. A large group of users use Telegram. That messaging app was updated last month with the September update. This included several improvements, such as a new profile screen and a new mini-app for stickers. The mini-app also lets you create stickers and emojis.

Google Chrome
Another widely used app was also given Material 3 Expressive. It is Google Chrome, which was offered the new design. With it, the application looks a bit more modern, which we see on the home screen and tabbed window, among other things. It uses new icons and rounded corners.
