New Material 3 media player
You may soon see the new media player reflected on Android Auto's screen. Google earlier came out with the announcement of the new design, using the new Material 3 Expressive design language. On Reddit, a user reported seeing the new media player reflected in the Tidal app. The new design is expected to be rolled out for more apps in the near future.

Controls are displayed in adaptive colours in the new version. Thanks to new animations, the timeline also looks a lot fresher, as you may already recognise from Pixel devices, for example. There is also a new layout for the buttons. When you have opened the full-screen view, you will see the album cover at the top, with the timeline and buttons below it. On the left side is space for the buttons to skip, or just play or pause. On the right, you'll find the buttons for shuffle mode, repeat, favourites and more. Interestingly, with the split screen, the pause button is not in the centre, but on the left. This will take some getting used to for many users.
SmartDroid colleagues report that they are already seeing the new media player in YouTube Music as well. However, it is not possible to speed up the rollout, so you will have to wait until you see the new view by itself.
