Taskito
Where am I without tasks app, well, not far. One app that has helped me insanely over the past year is Taskito. I have already discussed this todo app in detail in the Taskito review. It is a clear application that lets you customise extensive settings, such as multiple notifications for one task. You can also work with boards and priorities. An indispensable tasks app that you really like!

Revolut
Another indispensable app this year: Revolut. I have ING for my accounts, and so I use the ING app a lot. But for in countries with a different currency, I use Revolut. Here, you open a free account with a free account number. I ordered a pass and added the pass to Google Wallet. The big advantage: you don't pay a transaction fee per payment in another currency. Something you do have with other banks. This came in handy in Singapore, Prague and Sweden, as well as while on holiday in Switzerland. If you want to get started with Revolut yourself, you can sign up directly here.

Notion
Notion is another app we reviewed this year on DroidApp, in the Notion review. The service is very nice for making lists and notes. For instance, I always keep the shopping list here, but I also make quick notes of, say, a smartphone manufacturer's announcement in it. Notion works not only on your smartphone, but also well in the web browser on the computer or iPad, for instance. It really is an incredibly handy app!

Kia
Since this year, I have been driving electric, a Kia EV3. Of course, that comes with another app, and I use it regularly. With the handy widget I can see exactly how full the battery is, and what the calculated range is at that moment. In the app itself, I can find the current odometer reading and remotely lock or unlock the doors. The Kia app also gives you interesting statistics as an owner.

Polarsteps
Indispensable when travelling: Polarsteps. This year too, I used this incredibly fine travel app from Dutch soil a lot. The home front, family and friends could follow everything from my trip with Poco to Singapore, but also the holiday in Switzerland and the weeks in Sweden.
More apps
Actually, a top five is too small for me to summarise the indispensable apps of 2025. For instance, I use Bitwarden for passwords, Weatheronline (the winner of our comprehensive weather app test 2025) for weather forecasting, the Roborock app for controlling the robot hoover and Easee for controlling our charging station. Then Electroverse is the fine charging app for which you can sign up for free (and get 5 euros of charging credit via this link), and also charges normal prices for public charging. I use Garmin Connect for steps and exercise activities. Also, Duolingo is often open for tracking Swedish and I am now venturing into Czech.
