'Xiaomi working on thin smartphone with 10,000 mAh battery'

A gigantic battery, we see it more and more in smartphones. But in a thin smartphone, the capacity remains limited. That may soon change, with a new device from Xiaomi. A thinner phone with huge battery is said to be on the way.

Huge battery in upcoming Xiaomi device

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to release a new smartphone with a giant battery. We are increasingly seeing devices with large battery capacity. For instance, we had recently published the OnePlus 15 review. In that device is a 7400 mAh battery, which lasts an unbelievably long time. A hefty battery was also in the Oppo Find X9 Pro. That device has an even bigger battery, at 7500 mAh. Xiaomi will go one step further. An upcoming model will feature a 10,000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra review

The battery will reportedly be able to be recharged with a power of 100W. Not only wired charging should make the device fast again, wireless charging should also go at high speed. Although many details are still missing, the device is said to be less than 8.5 millimetres thick, reports say.

However, Xiaomi will not be the only manufacturer to put a hefty battery in a device. Phone manufacturer Honor also plans to release a smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging. The device, named Honor Win, is a high-end device with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in the Pro model. Whether the Xiaomi is a high-end model is not yet known. Besides, it is also possible that the device will be released as a Poco or Redmi model.
