Xiaomi unveils Redmi Pad 2 Pro, robotic hoovers, wearables and more

Xiaomi's portfolio was expanded with several new products today in the German city of Munich. Among others, we get to see a new tablet, wearables, robotic hoovers and earbuds.

Xiaomi picked the city of Munich to showcase new products today. Today, we were introduced to the new Xiaomi 15T series, but more products were shown. We list those new products so you're back in the loop.

A new tablet has been announced by Xiaomi. The brand comes with the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which will be available in a WiFi version and a 5G variant. The latter will therefore allow you to stay connected on the go. According to the manufacturer, the new tablet is designed for everyday entertainment with a large screen, good battery life and plenty of functionality.

On board is the 12.1-inch screen with 2.5K resolution. This is an LCD screen with a maximum brightness of 600 nits. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro features the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and the option to expand the 128GB/256GB memory via a memory card. Over Android lies Xiaomi's own HyperOS skin. Both versions further offer a 12,000mAh battery with 33W charging. There is a jack for a 3.5-millimetre headset and both front and back have an 8-megapixel camera, although on the 5G model it is a 13-megapixel camera at the back. The metal design of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro is available in grey, silver, purple and there is a frosted glass version. The 5G model is only available in grey and silver.

Xiaomi sells the Redmi Pad 2 Pro for 299.90 euros. The 5G version starts at 379.90 euros.

At Mobile World Congress, we already saw the Xiaomi Watch S4, equipped with 1.43-inch AMOLED screen. Now the watch also comes in a smaller size, as a 41mm version with a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen. This screen delivers a 1500 nits brightness, a thickness of 9.5 millimetres and weight of 32 grams. The watch offers comprehensive statistics around health. There are more than 150 sports modes, improved heart rate monitoring and insight into your sleep. The watch will cost 159.99 euros and is available in black, white, mint green and a gold colour

Also new are the Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro earbuds. The brand talks about a lightweight, ergonomic design that stays comfortable for long periods of time due to its three-point support. Thereby, a flexible memory-titanium wire ensures that the earbuds fit snugly in any ear shape. There is Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification with LDAC codec. Thanks to Harman AudioEFX and Harman Master, there should always be an equaliser profile available to suit you. Xiaomi promises a maximum battery life of up to 8.5 hours per charge for the Xiaomi Open Wear Stereo Pro, which can be extended to 45 hours with the case. The price comes out to 149.99 euros. This product will also be available in gold, in addition to a black colour.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is not new, but it does have a new look. If you want to look a bit hipper, you can now opt for the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Glimmer Edition with a gold design, with more 'bling-bling'. You still have a 1.72-inch AMOLED screen, over 150 sports modes, comprehensive sleep analysis and over 200 watch faces. On top of that, the 233 mAh battery should last up to 21 days with normal use. The new model costs 79.99 euros and is sold only at Xiaomi itself.

Also new are two robot vacuums that can also help you mop. They are the Robot Vacuum 5 and the Vacuum 5 Pro. Both robots offer a powerful suction of 20,000 Pa, which should be enough for all types of dirt and dust. Thanks to its dToF radar, the Pro model can pass under the lowest furniture (up to 9.5 centimetres high) and is equipped with several AI features, providing advanced dirt recognition and obstacle avoidance through a triple camera system. The base unit of the Pro model can mop with 80-degree hot water and the smart mode allows adjusting the water temperature and re-wash cycles based on the dirt sensors.

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5

At the Xiaomi Vacuum 5 features a different kind of obstacle avoidance. The base station supports adjustable water temperatures, self-cleaning trays and two-hour hot-air drying of mops. Both models offer an extendable mop arm and side brush and, according to Xiaomi, this should ensure 100 per cent corner coverage. The 5200 mAh battery should guarantee 140 minutes of usage time. The robot vacuums will have integration for Alexa and Google Assistant and can be controlled via the Xiaomi Smart Home app. The price of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 comes out at 649.99 euros, and 799.99 euros for the Pro model.
