Xiaomi 17 Ultra: this is the design
Earlier it was announced that the Xiaomi 16 series will be skipped, but we now have news for you about the Xiaomi 17 series. Earlier, the devices were announced for the home country. We see the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra in a poster from the manufacturer. In this marketing image, we see a clear picture of the new device. The large circular camera module we know from its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, is also seen on that device.
The upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be released in three colours: black, white and a special green variant. The latter, dubbed Starry Green, features a smartphone with mineral particles on the back, giving it a metallic-like finish. The device will have a flat screen and is said to be 8.29 millimetres thick. Another interesting feature is the volume button, which consists of two smaller separate keys. Below that is the power button. The device will also reportedly get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The camera module of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra offers three lenses, including a 1-inch periscope telephoto lens for zooming in. In our camera comparison with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, we already raved about the pictures that device managed to capture. With the Xiaomi 17 Ultra too, the focus will again be on the camera. For this, Xiaomi is again collaborating with Leica.
For the Chinese market, Xiaomi will announce the new phone on 25 December. A global announcement is said to be scheduled for sometime in the next few months, but a specific date is missing.
