Xiaomi 17 Pro models get secondary screen

With the new "Magic Back Screen", users of the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will get a second screen. This will be integrated into the raised camera area. It was already announced this week that Xiaomi is going down the Apple path, skipping the 16 models and aligning its naming with Apple's. Even the design of the new devices is slightly reminiscent of the Xiaomi 17 Pro models, according to photos that have now emerged.

The second screen, which sits at the back of the smartphone, offers the display of different screens. For instance, it can show the clock as well as images. The display can also be used as a camera viewfinder. On the previously released Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, we also saw a second screen, on which you can also read notifications, for instance. This may well be possible on the new model too. The screen extends around the camera module.

Interestingly, Xiaomi's focus is secretly already set on the Xiaomi 17 series, which will be released in China later this month. In Europe, we will first get the introduction of the Xiaomi 15T series. This suggests that the 17 models will not be announced for Europe until a later date.
