WhatsApp with new features
A new update has been announced by WhatsApp. The popular messaging service is getting the October update, which adds several new features. Its rollout has started, but it may take some time until everyone actually sees the new features. New is the 'Motion Photos' feature, called Live Photos on iOS. This lets you add sound and motion to the moments you capture with the camera. It can be seen as a feature where, like in the camera app on various Android devices and the iPhone, you get to see some motion beforehand when taking a picture. It also captures the image just before and just after taking a picture, making it slightly different from a video.
WhatsApp is further introducing new chat themes, using Meta AI to further boost your creativity. Earlier this year, chat themes first came to WhatsApp. The developers are further introducing new sticker packs that you can use in your chats. For example, you'll find new characters in the Fearless Bird and Vacation packs.

Scanning documents is another new feature that Android users can come across in WhatsApp. Before, this feature was only available for Apple iOS. From WhatsApp, you can immediately start scanning a document. From now on, you can also search group chats faster. In the 'Chats' tab, you can now search for someone you know and common groups will be shown. Finally, there are new backgrounds for video calls. Meta AI is used for that feature.
As mentioned, the features are being distributed to WhatsApp users from now on. It may take some time until every user finds them on their smartphones.
