Tesla works on Apple CarPlay support, but ignores Android Auto

Tesla is appreciated for its software, yet it lags behind in certain areas. For instance, it lacks support for Android Auto and also Apple CarPlay. The latter is now being added, but what about Android Auto?

Will Tesla support Android Auto?

Tesla has a name to live up to for its in-car software. It works fast, is well put together and offers many features. Yet it is nowhere near as comprehensive as the software at other electric car manufacturers. For instance, it lacks support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This while this is a much requested feature by Tesla drivers. A change seems to be coming now.

According to Bloomberg, Tesla is working on new features. To boost car sales, it is working on support for Apple CarPlay. Bloomberg's report states that a rollout can be expected "in the coming months". However, it does not mention when the feature will make its debut. In doing so, there is something else important to report.

Namely, there is no mention of Android Auto. It seems this is not in Tesla's plans for now.
