NXTPAPER AMOLED
There is a lot of new technology to discover at Mobile World Congress. The manufacturers unpack a lot of new products and technologies here. We also see this at TCL. The manufacturer is presenting NXTPAPER AMOLED. It is an improvement on the previously presented NXTPAPER applied to LCD screens. So now you have the benefits of the AMOLED screen, in this technology, with more vivid colours, higher contrast and it is also more energy efficient.

With NXTPAPER AMOLED, a matte, paper-like coating is applied over the screen. This results in a matte screen that does not suffer from glare. In addition, there is a special mode that 'filters' the colours out of the image. This gives you the same idea as with an e-book, which should make it extra pleasing to the eye. This mode is called adaptive reading mode. TCL promises a display with natural light and free of flicker. You can also choose to filter blue light this way.

The demo device at the MWC in Barcelona, features a 1.5K high resolution. To be precise, the screen uses circularly polarised light to minimise strain on your eyes. Everything about this type of screen is aimed at giving you high image quality, combined with a screen that is comfortable for long periods of time. The screen should feel as natural to the eyes as natural light.

We will start seeing the technology reflected in TCL's smartphones in the near future.
