Spotify makes app better for free users

A fine improvement for free Spotify users. It is finally possible to choose your own songs from a playlist. Until now, that was not possible, and you had to make do with the music service's own choices.

Free version of Spotify expanded

The free version of Spotify has been extended with a very welcome improvement. From now on, users can choose which music they want to play. This was already possible on the desktop version, but in the mobile apps you had to make do with Spotify's own choices. You could only choose which playlist the music should come from. Spotify placed the music in a shuffle and you would occasionally hear ads. This was meant to get users to switch to the paid Premium subscription.

Unknown is why Spotify has now made this change. In any case, it is a welcome addition for those with a free subscription with the Swedish music service. Other restrictions that free users face remain in place. This means that ads can be heard between songs. In addition, you can skip a song a limited number of times and the streaming quality is lower than with the paid subscription.
