Android 16 for Xperia 1 VII

Sony's latest high-end is the Xperia 1 VII. This smartphone offers extensive multimedia, display and camera capabilities. On the market, the device came with Android 15, over which Sony's own skin sits. Now the time has come to update the phone with the update to Android 16. This update has now also reached our review phone, and so it can be downloaded in Europe and thus also in the Netherlands.

Sony Xperia 1 VII Android 16

The update for the Sony Xperia 1 VII is 1.1GB in size and stays on the August security update. We don't see any major changes immediately. Sony has stuck to many of its own influences, although we do see changes to the numeric pad when entering the PIN and the settings screen has been tweaked. In total, the Sony Xperia 1 VII gets four Android updates and six years of security updates. This means Android 19 will be the last Android version to appear for the Xperia.
