Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in OnePlus 15R
OnePlus will announce its new smartphone on 17 December: the OnePlus 15R. After the brand announced the OnePlus 15 as a high-end smartphone this month, the R model is coming soon. The high-end device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and although the name is similar, Qualcomm has already shown the processor for the OnePlus 15R: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 should offer a flagship experience like that of the Elite model, but at a lower price. Baked on the 3nm process, the processor offers two main cores with a clock speed of 3.8GHz. There are also six more codes with a processing power of 3.32 GHz. Compared to the two-year-old Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the manufacturer promises a 36 per cent improvement in CPU tasks, 11 per cent in GPU output, 46 per cent in AI tasks and an overall power saving of 13 per cent.
