Signal wildly popular in Denmark
Signal is seeing its market share grow significantly in Denmark. Residents of the Scandinavian country seem to be looking for an alternative to services like WhatsApp and Telegram. The exact reason is not known, but everything seems to point to international tensions. Specifically, it concerns the tension between Greenland and the United States. Trump wants to take power militarily in Greenland if necessary. That country is a semi-autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark.

In the Google Play Store, Signal in Denmark is now in first place of most downloaded apps in the Communications category. Last week, the application ranked ninth there. On the iPhone, Signal is also widely downloaded, where the app took third place, Signalapp writes.
Signal is known for its privacy-friendly approach, whereas WhatsApp and many other chat apps are not. All chats in Signal are end-to-end encrypted, no data is collected and therefore not shared with third parties. Because Signal is open-source, the source code is available for all to see in order to be transparent. In addition, the developers' focus is not on making profit, but on offering a secure, privacy-friendly app.
In the Netherlands, Signal also pops up regularly, but at the time of writing, the application is in seventh place of most popular apps in the 'Communication' category.
