Soon no more Signal in Europe?

If it is up to chat app Signal, an exit from Europe is realistic if the EU introduces chat control. There are European plans to make secure communications interceptable to governments. This means chat apps that take encryption and other security measures will have to open a backdoor to governments. Chat Control, as the bill is called, aims to prevent and combat child sexual abuse online. Chat Control should make it possible to detect such material. This month, the new proposal was supposed to be discussed in the European Justice and Home Affairs Council. At the moment, this plan is not supported by the Netherlands. It is not known what other countries think of the plans.
