The rumour mill about the Galaxy S26 series is already running at full speed. This even though we don't expect Samsung's new smartphone series until January. The latest report is about the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 Edge, and it will be a bit larger than that of the current Edge model.
Larger battery for Galaxy S26 Edge
Samsung seems to believe firmly in the popularity of thin smartphones. Not just Samsung, by the way; Apple is also working on an iPhone 17 Air. Samsung came out with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge a few months ago. A thin device with a light weight, but therefore also a lesser battery. According to a reliable source, Samsung will provide its successor, the Galaxy S26 Edge, with a larger battery.

The current Galaxy S25 Edge has a 3900 mAh battery. The new model expected next year will have a battery capacity of 4200 mAh, according to Ice Universe. Incidentally, another rumour talks about how the new Galaxy S26 Edge will be even thinner; with a thickness of 5.5 millimetres. Of course, other improvements are also being worked on. We would see these reflected in the camera with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and an upgrade for the chipset.
If reports are true, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will consist of three models. These are the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S26 Edge. The 'standard' model would no longer appear in the S26 series and the Plus version will be replaced by a Pro model.
