Sleep score on Galaxy Watch deviates a lot
The sleep function is a nice addition to the smartwatch for many Galaxy Watch users, such as on the recently released Galaxy Watch 8. It can provide good direction in your health tracking. With the arrival of One UI 8 Watch, its capabilities were expanded, including the addition of bedtime guidance. Recently, however, one group of users have noticed something peculiar: their sleep scores are suddenly extremely high, with no change in habits.

For most users, sleep scores were usually around 80 or low 90, depending on the night. Yet users report suddenly achieving scores of 99 or even 100 several nights in a row. One user reported that their watch recorded a constant 99/100 for days, while their sleep pattern remained the same. Even an extra nap on top of a night of 99 earned a full 100 points.
The first signals surfaced via Reddit. Soon, several users joined in with similar experiences. The striking thing is that these scores do not seem to be tied to a specific Galaxy Watch model, a particular version of One UI or a region. This makes the situation all the more striking, as normally sleep scores take into account data over longer periods of time. That very thing should prevent results from fluctuating widely or being unexpectedly extremely high. In some cases, users even report a significantly lower score.
A clear cause has not yet been found. It is not known whether it is a software error or a deliberate change in the way scores are calculated.
