Samsung Galaxy S26 series gets first update: security patch February

Samsung is rolling out a first update for its Galaxy S26 handsets. This year's model series gets the February security update. It's a pretty big update, so it's likely there's still some background work to be done.

The first update for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is rolling out. It's not quite the latest update, but at least it's an update that includes several improvements. Those improvements can be seen in the security of the device. All three Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ and the S26 Ultra will be updated with security update February 2026. Dimitri reveals this to DroidApp.

In the changelog, we only read that the new security patch will be implemented. Other than that, we don't see any changes. Still, it seems that more is being added. After all, the update is about 564MB in size. It is possible that Samsung has made some more bug fixes and performance improvements. On top of Google's patches, Samsung itself has added its own anyway.

The update is being distributed to models as of now. You can expect a notification on your device when you can download the update. If you don't want to wait for that, you can also check for updates manually.
