Samsung Galaxy S26 series: more details
Next year, the necessary devices will return to the market. High-end smartphones to be precise. This week, OnePlus presents its high-end OnePlus 15, and in a few months it will be Samsung's turn. With the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Samsung hopes to convince you as a consumer again as well. Information about the camera and battery has now surfaced from the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+. Earlier, camera details surfaced from the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Both devices, meaning both the regular S26 and the Plus model, will get a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens. This is in contrast to earlier rumours, which talked about a 50-megapixel lens. The 12-megapixel lens is the same as previously used on models in the series.
Based on the leaked firmware, Samsung reportedly does plan to replace the main camera. Although we don't expect any major changes here, as a different 50-megapixel lens is all that is being chosen. Possibly, only things like the aperture have been tinkered with.
For the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, the manufacturer will switch from a 10-megapixel telephoto lens to a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. It's not an earth-shattering move. At most, you're going to see the improvements in details, for example. The telephoto lens should offer 3x optical zoom. Samsung would provide the non-Ultra models with 4K video recording at 60fps, both with the front and rear camera.

Battery
Samsung's firmware also releases details about the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 series. Again, don't expect any major changes. In fact, it matches the capacity in the S25 models. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S26 gets a 4300 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S26 Plus has to make do with a 4900 mAh battery. Information on the charging speed is missing, but again, we do not expect any shocking changes.
It is unclear exactly when Samsung will announce the devices. The latest rumours talk about the end of February, while a new source now talks about the end of January, with a mid-January release. Should more be known about this, we will of course keep you updated!
