Samsung Galaxy S25 series gets Android 16 with One UI 8 in September

Next month, owners of a Samsung Galaxy S25 series device can expect a major update. The manufacturer has announced that the update to Android 16, with One UI 8 will be available in September.

Android 16 for Galaxy S25 is on the way

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be updated next month with the update to Android 16, featuring One UI 8. The manufacturer reveals this in a blog post, in which it elaborates on the software development of the new version. In September, the Galaxy S25 series will be the first to receive the update. This means the update will become available in the coming weeks for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Edge. In the time after, other smartphone series will be updated with the latest version.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Now Brief

Samsung is adding to Android 16 the company's new skin: One UI 8. We are already familiar with this update from the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7; those two smartphones were launched with Android 16, which we explored in more detail, in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 review. So we will start seeing those new improvements on the Galaxy S25 models as well. The new version gets several improvements. For instance, Now Bar on the lock screen is further expanded and we also see improvements for Galaxy AI. There are also some tweaks to system apps and a revamped weather app.

A date when Samsung will start rolling out Android 16 has not yet been announced.
