Samsung has several audio products in its portfolio. Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro was added to them. In recent weeks, we tested these new earbuds and share our findings in the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro review.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
We previously published a comprehensive review of the Galaxy Buds 3. Now it is time to take the Pro version in hand in a comprehensive test. The previously mentioned model still had some areas for improvement, and we are curious to see if the Pro model improves on that. We can already give you a hint; it certainly does! In this Galaxy Buds 3 Pro review, we will discuss everything with you!

In the box of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, you will only find the case with the earbuds, a brief quick start guide and a USB-C cable. You will also find another larger and smaller size earbud, so you can customise it to your ear canal.
Design
We tested the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in a silver colour. It looks cool, and there are lights on the stems of the earbuds. These light up when pairing and taking them in and out of the case. Through the app, you can also set some other effects. The design is also different from the previous series, where they were really in-ear buds and so now have an actual stick.

The earbuds feel very solid and sit comfortably in the ear. By swiping up or down on the earbud, you can adjust the volume. On the stalk, there is a subtle pressure option that lets you pause or resume music. You can also set Android to hold it down to control the sound, or to open your favourite app.

Capabilities
If you combine the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro with an Android device, the headset will benefit you the most. Consider, for example, the support for audio codecs. At least there is AAC and SBC, and if you use the earbuds with a Samsung device, you also get two exclusive codecs for high-resolution audio. These are SSC UHQ and Samsung Seamless Audio. The latter is only supported on the latest and most expensive Samsungs. Other codecs are not supported, leaving you to do without Losless or AptX, for instance. Thereby, you can use the Smartthings app to easily find them again if you lose them.

For iPhone owners, there is less good news. This is because you can personalise the earbuds further using the Samsung Wearable app. However, this app is not available for iOS. This means you are missing out on some pretty useful functionality. Think of the equaliser you can set, receiving updates for the earbuds and the degree of noise reduction. Should you still have an Android device in the drawer somewhere, you can still address these issues and, for example, save the equaliser and use it that way.

Sound quality
In terms of sound, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is nicely balanced. The low end is nicely warm and full while the mids sound detailed. The highs are crisp and not sharp or shrill. A good tune has been found by Samsung between the low and high that gives you excellent sound quality. Music of different genres sounds very pleasant with these in-ears. They are also not inferior to, for example, the Sony WF-1000XM5.
In terms of noise cancelling, the Buds 3 Pro is also not inferior to the aforementioned competitor. Thus, the device manages to create a quiet environment without any problems, even in noisy environments you won't be bothered. We are really excited about how well the sound is stopped. Clearly also better than with the OnePlus Buds Pro 3, which we tested earlier.
Calling is also fine with the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The other person can hear us well and so can the other way around. Samsung also promises a special Siren Detect function, which turns off noise cancellation when sirens are detected. There is also Voice Detect, where ANC can be switched off automatically when a call is detected.
Battery life is not very different from that of the competition. Samsung promises some 6 hours of playback time with ANC on, an hour longer with ANC off. This is 26 and 30 hours with the use of the charging case.

Review
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is a great headset for the true music lover. The Galaxy Buds have left me with an even better impression than OnePlus' competitor.
You can buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro from Samsung itself and further from Coolblue, Bol.com, Belsimpel and MediaMarkt.
