Pixel 10 users experience problems pairing Wear OS smartwatches

Google recently announced the Pixel 10 series. The new smartphones are now available, and so the necessary experiences are coming online. We see more and more users reporting problems pairing a Samsung Galaxy smartwatch, or other smartwatches running Wear OS.

Smartwatch won't pair with Pixel 10

Do you own a new Pixel 10 phone and a Wear OS smartwatch like the Galaxy Watch? If so, you may just be experiencing problems pairing the smartwatch with the smartphone. From our own experience, we know about pairing issues between the Pixel 10 Pro XL and our review model of the Galaxy Watch 8. The connection could not be established and new codes kept appearing to pair the devices. The result: you couldn't use the smartwatch because no pairing could be established. After much trying, waiting, and much fumbling, the smartwatch was finally paired.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 - Pixel 10

The problem with us does not seem to be an isolated one, according to research by DroidApp. The problem seems to be affecting many more smartwatch owners. Not only is the Galaxy Watch 8 mentioned, other models also come up. We also see reports with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. Users with a WearOS smartwatch from another brand are also noticing the problems. These include the OnePlus Watch 3 and the OnePlus Watch 2. With the problems, the Pixel displays the message, "Cannot set up your watch". Also, pairing via the Bluetooth settings does not make the phone connect to the watch.

In the case of the Samsung, reinstalling the applications required by Samsung did not help us; and this is confirmed by other users. A real solution does not seem to have been found yet. However, Google is aware of the problem and is working on a solution behind the scenes. Until then, it may help to keep trying and restart occasionally, according to our experience. Pairing a Garmin smartwatch goes without a hitch. The problems seem to be specific to the Pixel 10 models. With the Pixel 9 series, the problems don't seem to be there.
