Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro announced: huge battery, better camera

There have been several rumours about the new Oppo Find X9 series in recent times. Those rumours now come to an end, as Oppo has officially presented the new smartphone for Europe. Today, we can share with you all the details about the manufacturer's n...

Oppo Find X9 series official

The focus of the new Oppo Find X9 series is on the device's camera. And for this, unlike sister company OnePlus, the brand is again working with Hasselblad. The design is similar to that of the OnePlus 15, but of course on this device we find ColorOS, the skin that lies over Android. What stands out about the design is the presence of the Snap Key. This is located on the side and lets you assign yourself a hotkey, for example to start the torch, put the phone on silent or to perform another task.

The Quick Button is another key we encounter on the side. It lets you open the camera and use tools to control it. Oppo equips the Oppo Find X9 with a 6.59 OLED display, with the Pro coming with a 6.78-inch OLED display. In doing so, Oppo also promises the thinnest bezel we have ever seen in an Oppo. The screen achieves a maximum peak brightness of 3,600 nits, so readability on sunny days should not be a problem.

Oppo places a new feature Vehicle Motion Alerts, which will help you use your phone on the move when you suffer from car sickness. It should reduce the impact of car sickness from this, as globes move along on the screen.

The Oppo Find X9 features both IP68 and IP69 certification. Oppo's new phone is available in Titanium Gray, Space Black, Velvet Red, Silk White, Titanium Chacoal colours. The Find X9 will launch with a 7025 mAh battery. The Find X9 Pro gets an even bigger battery, as it comes with a 7500 mAh battery. After five years of use, it should still offer at least 80 per cent battery health, the brand promises. In terms of charging, there is 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging. The new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset has been singled out to do all things fast and keep things running.

Camera

A triple camera we see on the back of the Oppo Find X9, with the smartphone offering three 50-megapixel lenses. These include a 23mm main camera, a periscope lens and a 15mm wide-angle lens. True Colour Camera technology should provide images with the right colours and white balance. Another technique should ensure the best photos in dark environments and, of course, a piece of AI is also used for this. Also, it can be set to take photos at 50 megapixels by default, instead of taking them at 12 megapixels.

Another feature is Motion Photo, where a short moment before and after taking a picture, the image is already captured. This is done in 4K, so you no longer have to miss a moment, and can save it too. Each frame of the 'video' that is taken can be saved as a photo.

Oppo offers an even more comprehensive camera with the Oppo Find X9 Pro. The 50-megapixel main camera supports Ultra XDR and, with an aperture of f/1.5, also offers support for optical image stabilisation. Through new techniques, work has been done to capture exposure correctly. What stands out the most is the 200-megapixel telephoto lens, allowing you to get your subject even closer without losing quality. In total, Oppo offers 120x Super Zoom, allowing you to zoom up to 13.2x optically with the Find X9 Pro, with 30x zoom with optical quality. Oppo promises that with the Pro model, you should also be able to take the best photos during a concert. Furthermore, the camera offers the ability to shoot 4K 120fps.

There is a 32-megapixel front camera on the Find X9 and a 50-megapixel on the Pro.

Software

Oppo ships the phones with Android 16, with the brand providing ColorOS 16 as its own software skin. It's all about speed, and that should be absolutely fine with ColorOS 16, the brand promises. Switching between apps, animations and multitasking, everything should be smooth and fast. As with OnePlus' OxygenOS 16, you can use AI tools such as Plus Mind, which are again integrated into Google Gemini. This allows you to query Gemini about, for example, your saved calendar entries and details of something you found on the internet. Oppo promises five Android updates and six years of security updates.
