Oppo follows Apple and releases Pro Max model (too): from Reno 15

Oppo is following Apple's naming path. That means the brand will soon announce the Pro Max version of the Reno 15. Not only Oppo is applying this trick; earlier we saw a similar twist from manufacturer Xiaomi.

Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max is on the way

Oppo is preparing for the next generation in its popular Reno series. After launching the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro in August, the manufacturer now seems to be getting ready to introduce the Reno 15 family. Incidentally, in home country China, the Reno 14 series was presented in May. As usual with Oppo, the Reno series is released twice a year, so the announcement of the new series is not long in coming.

Three models on the way

According to recent rumours, Oppo will present three devices: the Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Max. With the latter two names, Oppo seems to be following the naming conventions of brands like Xiaomi and Apple, by introducing a "Pro Max" variant in the Reno line for the first time.

The Reno 15 Pro Max will be the most advanced model of the three. The device is expected to get a flat 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. That should ensure smooth images and improved energy efficiency in daily use.

Oppo Reno 14 review

Strong hardware and camera focus

Inside, the Reno 15 Pro Max is believed to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, MediaTek's latest high-end processor. This chipset promises high performance with an improved balance between speed and power consumption. On the camera front, Oppo packs impressive numbers. The Reno 15 Pro Max is said to get a 200 MP main camera with Samsung's sensor, in addition to a 50 megapixel telephoto lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens. The selfie camera too should offer high quality. Indeed, a 50-megapixel lens is expected here.

Software, connectivity and battery

The device runs standard on Android 16 with ColorOS 16, Oppo's own software shell with additional personalisation options. Furthermore, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 7 and NFC, and features an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Although Oppo has not yet confirmed the battery capacity, it is expected to be around 6,500mAh. The Oppo Reno 15 series is expected to be officially presented in China later this year. An international release would follow in early 2026.
