OnePlus has dedicated a blog post to the new features of the Plus Key. It is the successor to the Alert Slider, which the Chinese manufacturer said goodbye to. Its functionality is reminiscent of the Apple iPhone.
Plus Key from OnePlus
The Plus Key is the successor to the Alert Slider. We know this handy slider from many OnePlus devices. With it, you can set your device to vibrate, silent or sound. That a successor for this has appeared, we saw earlier with the Apple iPhone. You can still set your phone to silent, vibrate or sound with it, but if you want to attach another shortcut to it, this is also possible. We're going to see the same with OnePlus, according to a new announcement from the manufacturer. According to OnePlus, it should feel more intuitive, personal and powerful.

For example, users can set the button to quickly switch between sound profiles, instantly open the camera or activate AI translations while travelling. Through a long press, a double tap or other input options, multiple functions can be linked to the button.

What further makes this button special is its deeper integration with OnePlus AI. As users use their device, the software learns their behaviour and preferences. This enables the Plus Key to proactively offer features or suggest actions. In this way, the button grows with the user: from simple controls to a pocket-sized personal assistant, OnePlus promises. The OnePlus 13s is the first phone to offer this feature. This phone is not coming to our country.
