'New Motorola Signature gets 7 years of updates and flagship specs'

Motorola is coming up with a new announcement soon, with rumours talking about the Motorola Signature. This new phone should feature flagship specs and seven years of updates, according to the latest reports. We update you on the new phone.

Motorola Signature is on the way

The name 'Signature' comes up again in the rumour mill. Motorola is working on a device with this name, and today we can share new details with you. Indeed, it seems to be a device that will match that of a real flagship. Whether that is also Motorola's plan to position the smartphone this way, that is not yet entirely clear. From new images shared by Evan Blass, we see that the device will be quite thin. The leaker also shared a rundown of the specifications.

Motorola Signature

Motorola will equip the Motorola Signature with a 6.8-inch LPTO AMOLED display that appears to get very thin screen bezels. It will reportedly have a screen-to-body ratio of 95 per cent. Inside the screen is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Rumours talk about support for a stylus, though further information on this is lacking. Motorola gives the device up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. There is a 5200 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Along with this, there is a triple camera with a total of three 50-megapixel lenses. This includes a main camera, wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens with 3x zoom. There is also a 50-megapixel front camera on the front.

Remarkably, all this is contained in a body that is only 6.99 millimetres thick. Also notable is the Motorola Signature's software. In fact, the smartphone is said to get seven years of updates, something we have not seen from the manufacturer before. These include security updates as well as Android updates. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 16. Where it differs from a true flagship is the processor. Motorola is opting for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Motorola plans to announce the new smartphone "soon". And that could just be tomorrow, 6 January. Because there have been reports about that for some time. The brand would also like to show a new Razr foldable.
