Moto X70 Air is official
In recent days and weeks, Motorola's new thin smartphone has been talked about a lot. While it remains to be seen whether consumers are really waiting for a thin phone, Motorola at least believes in it. And the brand does with the new Moto X70 Air. First, the smartphone has been presented for China. Since we have also seen marketing from the Netherlands about the device, a global announcement is also imminent. This will take place on 5 November. The device is expected to be renamed differently in our region, presumably Motorola Edge 70.

Whereas Samsung with the Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple with the iPhone Air opt for a smaller battery capacity, Motorola opts for a battery capacity that is not inferior to other devices: 4800 mAh. This battery can be charged quickly with 68W, or wirelessly with 15W. By comparison, Samsung put a 3900 mAh battery in the S25 Edge. At 6.0 millimetres, the smartphone is slightly thicker than the 5.8-millimetre-thick S25 Edge.

The Moto X70 Air further features a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1220p+. This is a flat screen with a maximum peak brightness of 4500 nits. Inside the punch-hole is a 50-megapixel selfie camera; inside the screen is the fingerprint scanner. Motorola gives a choice of three colours: green with extra green accents, a light/mint green colour with orange accents and a black colour. The phone has IP68 and IP69 certification.

All the power for all tasks is given by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. 12GB of working memory is available, with consumers able to choose from 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. We see three camera lenses on the back of the Moto X70 Air. The main camera is a 50-megapixel lens, assisted by two other lenses about which no details are shared. A price and further information has not yet been shared by Motorola.
