Motorola Edge 70 announced with thin design: also Moto G57 Power official

Two new smartphones have been unveiled by Motorola. This morning, after a time of rumours, it was finally here. Motorola is taking on the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air. The brand is doing so with the thin Motorola Edge 70. Furthermore, the company...

Motorola wants to show that a thin smartphone does not have to mean plenty of compromises. Thin smartphones are hot, at least among manufacturers. Earlier, it became clear that Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge does not manage to achieve too good figures. Motorola is now setting its sights on the slim Motorola Edge 70, which has a thickness of 5.99 millimetres. This does make it slightly thicker than the 5.8-millimetre-thick Samsung. On the other hand, Motorola puts a bigger battery in it. It is a 4800 mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 68W fast charging or 15W wireless charging.

According to the manufacturer, the device features a refined finish and is comfortable to hold. This along with its weight of just 159 grams. You can choose from several colours, for which the brand has again partnered with Pantone. These are Bronze Green, Lily Pad and Gadget Grey. Briefly, the device comes in grey, mint and green, each also with additional colour accents, for example around the camera module. A magnetic case is included. The Motorola Edge 70 is IP69 certified, making it dust- and waterproof.

The Motorola Edge 70 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The smartphone comes with Android 16. It gets four Android updates and is kept up with security updates for over five years. Those security patches will appear once every two months, until July 2031, Motorola reports. In the interface, you will find Moto AI, with which Motorola is betting on several useful tools, such as the presence of Gemini, of course, but also Next Move. With this, the tool looks at what is happening on the screen. With it, users can be helped directly through actions. A new feature is Playlist Studio, which lets you create a custom playlist based on what you see on the screen. Image Studio can turn someone's imagination into stickers, avatars, images or wallpapers. There are also tools for increasing your productivity.

The Motorola Edge 70 offers a 50-megapixel main camera, 50MP wide-angle lens and an additional 3-in-1 light sensor. A 50-megapixel camera is also placed on the front. There are dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Moto G57 Power

Two more products have been announced by Motorola. They are the Moto G57 Power and the Moto Buds Bass. The Moto G57 Power is designed for users who want a powerful smartphone with long battery life and a durable design, without the high price of a flagship model. With a 7000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, the device should last two days on a single charge. There is support for 30W charging. The Moto G57 Power is powered by the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 6.72-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate delivers smooth visuals and vibrant colours, while Dolby Atmos and stereo speakers ensure a good audio experience.

The Moto G57 Power also stands out in terms of durability and photography. The casing meets MIL-STD-810H standards and features Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP64 rating, which provides extra protection against impacts, dust and moisture. There is a 50-megapixel main camera, along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. The Moto G57 Power comes to market with Android 16, including Moto AI, Gemini and Circle to Search.

Moto Buds Bass

Moto Buds Bass

The Moto Buds Bass perfectly complement the new smartphone with powerful, bass-oriented sound and a design suitable for everyday use. The earbuds will be available alongside the previously announced Moto Buds Loop, which we tested. The wireless earbuds feature 12.4 mm drivers with Hi-Res Audio certification, delivering deep bass and clear sound. Thanks to Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation (up to 50 dB) and an adaptive mode, ambient noise is effectively filtered out, while transparency mode keeps users aware of their surroundings. The earbuds offer up to 9 hours of playing time per charge and up to 43 hours with the included charging case. Moreover, CrystalTalk AI technology with a triple microphone system ensures clear calls, and the water-repellent finish protects against rain and splashes - ideal for on-the-go use.

The Moto G57 Power will be available for €249.99 in early December. The Moto Buds Bass is available from now for around 60 euros.
