Big battery in thin smartphone
Motorola will soon come out with a new smartphone that should be as thin as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple's recently presented iPhone Air. Thin smartphones are booming. At least, that's what manufacturers think. Consumers are not necessarily running very fast for it yet, or so it seems according to earlier reports. Motorola, however, seems to want to show that things can be different. The existence of the slim smartphone was revealed in a teaser on Thursday, now we get additional details.

New information tells us that the Motorola Edge 70, as the device will be called at least in some regions, will have a much larger battery. A photo shared shows that the device will come to market with a 4800 mAh battery. Presumably, we are talking about a silicon-carbon battery that can offer more capacity in a smaller size. Samsung supplies a 3900 mAh battery in its Edge model, while Apple's battery capacity comes out to 3149 mAh.
The smartphone would be released with IP68 and IP69 certification and has a thickness of 5.8 millimetres. It will also feature a 50-megapixel camera. Rumours suggest that the battery should be able to charge with 68W, or 15W wirelessly. There is talk of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, along with 12GB of RAM. The price would come out to either €799 or €899.
