Microsoft malfunction
Are you experiencing problems with a particular service or website? If so, that party may just be using Microsoft's servers. The company has been struggling with a major outage since late this Wednesday afternoon. This means that not all services are online, and not just various apps and services from Microsoft. There we see the outage causing problems with Outlook, for example, but also with the Microsoft Store, Microsoft 365, Azure and, of course, Microsoft Teams.
The outage is also causing problems for third parties who take the service from Microsoft. This means you may experience problems with Minecraft, Xbox and Exact Online. The Dutch Railways (NS) is also affected by the outage, causing problems with its journey planner, as are Vattenfall (which offers InCharge for charging your electric car, for example) and Netatmo. Twinfield, Staatsloterij, BMW, Transavia and ANWB are other parties that appear to be connected to Microsoft and thus also cannot be used much, if at all.
The cause at Microsoft is said to be an "unintended configuration change". Microsoft's team is working to resolve the problem, but it is unknown how long this will take. Interestingly, Amazon also recently had a major outage, causing many (third-party) services to go down.
