Update for Pixel Watch 2 and 3
The Google Pixel Watch 2 and 3 are both getting a new update. Google is providing the two smartwatches with the update to Wear OS 6. Meanwhile, this new version of the software is also running on the recently released Pixel Watch 4. The update for the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 comes for both Bluetooth/WiFi, and LTE models.
The original 2022 Pixel Watch will not get the update for now, although it is likely to follow later. After all, Google has promised software support until at least October 2025. However, the current release notes only mention the second and third generation of the Pixel Watch. The previous update appeared in June, and although Google has since switched to quarterly updates for the Pixel Watch, September remained without a release. This October update now follows that.

Revamped design with Material 3 Expressive
Wear OS 6 brings with it a hefty visual revamp. The full Material 3 Expressive design is now present, including an updated lock screen keypad, revamped Quick Settings and a fresh notification interface.
A notable addition is the use of dynamic colours that adapt to your watch face. That colour adjustment extends to notifications, tiles and some apps, making the interface look more consistent.
New and revamped apps
The Alarm, Stopwatch and Timer apps have also been redesigned and now match the new style of Wear OS. The icons and layout have been updated for better readability and a more modern look.
The update does not yet include the new watch faces introduced with the Pixel Watch 4, but it does include many of the underlying improvements from that model.
To start the update manually, on your watch, go to Settings > System > System updates and tap the screen with "Your watch is up to date" several times. After installing the update, you can download additional updates in the Play Store for Wear Media and (Pixel) Weather, among others, which are optimised for this version of Wear OS.
