Theme packs on your Pixel
Thanks to an observant source, we find out what new features Google is preparing for the Pixel devices. While new features are usually rolled out with so-called Feature Drop updates, the upcoming November update also seems to bring new features already. Shared are screenshots of an updated version of the Pixel Tips app, which can be found on your Pixel smartphone and tablet. The screenshots show that new features have been added.
First of all, there are theme packs. These allow you to give your Pixel a theme with one touch. This includes, for example, a background, which adds matching theme icons automatically. That way, you don't have to personalise and customise it yourself. Google's description also talks about sounds being customised with a theme pack. Another new feature is the ability to turn an image into a GIF, and share it. Through a so-called prompt , you can animate an image.
Finally, you can use Pixel VIP. VIP contacts are highlighted more. For example, messages from these contacts in Google Messages and WhatsApp are highlighted yellow and the contact's picture is shown in the status bar as a notification.
It seems that Google plans to roll out the new features around 4 November. Indeed, that date is mentioned. Though we're still holding out the possibility that Google will only roll out this feature with December's Pixel Feature Drop after all.
