Google Pixel devices get April update with improvements

Good news for Google Pixel smartphone owners. The company has started distributing the April update for the models. This includes a series of improvements.

April update for Pixel

Google is making the new April security update available for Pixel devices. The update is rolling out from now to the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold and the 10a. Apart from the security update, other issues are also addressed with this new update. We have listed the changelog with the changes below.

  • Resolved an issue where the 'Backup' menu was missing in system settings under certain circumstances*[2]
  • Resolved an issue causing certain banking and third-party apps to crash under certain circumstances*[1]

  • Resolved an issue causing some games to crash under certain conditions*[4]

  • Resolved an issue causing the quick search bar to sometimes be missing from the home screen under certain conditions*[1]

WiFi

  • Resolved an issue where Quick Share crashes during file transfers under certain conditions*[3]
