Pixel 10a is official
Google has just announced the Google Pixel 10a. The new phone has been going around the rumour circuit recently. Now that the phone has been officially announced, we can share all the details with you. The Pixel 10a is the successor to the Pixel 9a and takes its strong features with it. Still, the differences are less than you would expect from the device. For instance, the design is pretty much the same as that of the previous generation.
However, Google does opt for some differences, as previously shared in rumours. For instance, the device is three grams lighter, the size is slightly different and there is support for Bluetooth 6. Furthermore, the brand has opted for a slightly more scratch-resistant screen with Gorilla Glass 7i. The battery can also be charged a bit faster and there is support for satellite communication. In emergency situations, you can then send an SOS message to emergency services via satellite in environments without mobile network or WiFi. Once again, the Google Pixel 10a gets seven years of updates; both OS updates and security updates. Out of the box, the smartphone runs on Android 16.
What is retained is the 6.3-inch pOLED screen, which delivers a resolution of 2424 x 1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 60-120Hz. There is a choice of four colours: lavender (purple), berry (red-pink), fog (light blue) and obsidian (black). The battery capacity of 5100 mAh has remained the same as its predecessor, but it can now be charged at 30W, instead of 23W. Google promises that charging up to 50 per cent takes half an hour with a 45W USB-C charger with PPS. You can also charge wirelessly with 10W.
The Google Pixel 10a comes with 8GB of RAM, with a choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage. The chipset is similar to that of its predecessor: the Tensor G4 processor. There is a dual-camera with 48-megapixel main camera and 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. Google promises 8x zoom with optical quality. For taking selfies, there is a 13-megapixel front camera.

Availability
Google will release the Pixel 10a in Europe for a price of 549 euros. For the 256GB version, you will pay 649 euros.
