Google has announced the much-anticipated Pixel 10 series. After weeks and months of rumours, the brand has unveiled four new devices in the series. We are introduced to the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL and the Pro Fold. DroidApp shares with you all the details about the new smartphones.
Google Pixel 10 series is official
At the Made by Google event, the company is showing off four new smartphones. After months of rumours, everything is now official about the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. With these new models, each device has a successor to the Pixel 9 series. Of course, then there is still the Pixel 9a, which will only get a successor over the course of next, as is usual with a-models. We list all the details of the four new models.

Pixelsnap
There are a number of similarities between the four models. New, for instance, is Pixelsnap. This technology is similar to Apple's incredibly popular MagSafe, as seen on the iPhone. You can use the magnetic ring on the back of the phones, providing Qi2 wireless charging or use different accessories. These include a magnetic ring, which allows you to put your device down, and a wireless charger. This 'Pixel Stand' offers 25W wireless charging and can also serve as a photo frame, for example. The original Pixel covers are all Pixelsnap compatible. Also, all four devices offer Google's own new Tensor G5 chipset.

The smartphones will be sold outside the US with support for both physical SIM card and eSIM. In the US, the models will only come with eSIM support. Furthermore, Google opts for lithium-ion batteries and focuses on the large camera bar on the back of the devices. The camera will get the necessary attention from the company again anyway. In addition, the Pixel 10 devices will get seven years of updates again; this includes Android updates as well as security updates.

Google Pixel 10
We start with the Google Pixel 10. Obsidian, Frost, Indigo and Lemon are the colours the Google Pixel 10 will come out in. The device gets a 48-megapixel main camera and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x zoom, which should also be able to take high-quality photos at 10x. In addition, there is also 20x Super Res Zoom so getting your subject closer with the Pixel 10 should no longer be a problem. The wide-angle lens counts 13 megapixels. The Pixel 10 features a 4970 mAh battery with 30W charging. There is 12GB of RAM and depending on your choice, 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Google delivers the Pixel 10 with a 6.3-inch display, equipped with a refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz. There is also a maximum brightness of 3000 nits, HDR support. The phone weighs 204 grams. That's lighter than the 207-gram Pixel 10 Pro and the Pro XL's 232 grams.

Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL
This year's flagship devices are the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL. To get right to the point, there are only a few differences between the two devices. These can be found in size, display and battery. Also, the storage capacity of the XL version starts at 256GB, where you can also opt for 128GB on the Pro model. Charging on the Pro is done with 30W, where you can charge the XL with 45W wired. Also, the Pro XL device supports 25W charging via Qi2.2, where the Pixel 10 and Pro support Qi2 with 15W wireless charging. The Pixel 10 Pro offers a 4870 mAh battery, that of the Pro XL comes out at 5200 mAh and both offer 16GB of RAM.

Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone and Jade, these are the colours in which the new Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will be released. The smartphones offer a 50-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens. The 48-megapixel telephoto lens offers 5x optical zoom, 10x optical quality and 100x Pro Res Zoom. So again, this makes it incredibly easy to bring your subject forward.
The screen of the two models reaches a maximum brightness of 3300 nits, so summer is no problem for the devices. Google also promises the best audio experience with the best speakers we have ever seen in a Pixel. The two Pro models get 16GB of RAM and, of course, the Tensor G5 chipset.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2856 x 1280 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of 1-120Hz. The Pixel 10 Pro XL has a 6.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
There will also be another new foldable from Google. It is the new Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and it also gets the Tensor G5 chipset, 16GB of RAM and comes in Moonstone and Jade colours. Google provides the device with IP68 certification; and we haven't seen that level of protection on a foldable before. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, for instance, has an IP48 certification. Also, Google promises enhanced drop protection and the screen should withstand more than 10 years of use.
On the back, you will find a 48-megapixel main camera, 10.5-megapixel wide-angle lens and 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens. This telephoto lens also offers 5x optical zoom with 10x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom. There is a 10-megapixel front camera and also a 10MP camera in the unfolded screen. The smartphone offers a 6.4-inch screen on the outside. An OLED panel with 2364 x 1080 pixels as resolution and a refresh rate between 60-120 Hz. Internally, there is an 8.0-inch OLED screen (2076 x 2152 pixels, 1-120Hz). The weight comes out to 258 grams. The 5015 mAh battery should provide the necessary battery life, and charging can be done with 30W.

Software
Some software features are also highlighted by Google. Gemini Live is a new feature on your Pixel 10 device. This Google Lens-like feature works directly through the camera and detects where you point the camera. There are also new features for the camera. Google will help you become a better photographer. The Camera Coach lets you take the best shot with tips that appear on your screen. For instance, it might be useful to change your point of view. For this, the Camera Coach looks at what it sees. Also, it can give you new ideas on how to explicitly include, for example, a beach chair that 'happens' to be in the picture. Guided Frame can give descriptions, of what it sees in the photo. Auto Best Take can select the best photo from a series of photos. Useful for a group photo, when just now someone is not looking or has his or her eyes closed.
The aforementioned Pro Res Zoom on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL, as mentioned earlier, allows you to bring subjects closer. The feature has been further improved and Google promises even better results with more detail. The Pro Res Zoom feature is tailored specifically for the Tensor G5 chipset.
Instant View is a new feature that works on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and gives you a playful view of the pictures taken when using the still camera. Furthermore, you can use the split screen and drag & drop. The latter feature lets you, for instance, directly send a photo in a chat or place it in a document. Furthermore, there are optimisations for playing games.
