Real-time arrival time immediately in view
Google Maps is full of useful additions and features. Users can expect a new feature soon, a user shared on Discord. Google has started testing a new feature that is being piloted in a small group. Users will get instant insight into how long the journey to takes. This without having to start the navigation. This in turn saves time, as you plan and start the route first, after which you usually only then see the arrival time.

With the new change, you will see this option directly at the top of the screen, with the shortcut to home, according to screenshots. Handy, if you know the route home just fine, but are curious what the travel time is. The expected travel time is shown in a colour. These are the colours Google Maps already uses when traffic is heavy. For example, green means you can drive on just fine, orange is delayed, and a red travel time means you have to expect traffic jams.
As mentioned, the new feature is being tested among a small group of users. It is not known when Google will roll out the feature widely.
