Snapseed gets major redesign on Android
Snapseed 3.0 appeared in June for iOS. However, this major update with a major redesign did not appear for Android. However, that now seems to be about to change. Google announced in December that Snapseed 3.0 is in development. Its development started in November and will take several more months. With the new version, besides and new design of the photo editor, it also presented a new logo and improved controls.

With the new interface, the home page shows you the edited images directly in a grid. The editor shows three tabs, with access to quick filters, to which you can also add your own. Furthermore, the second tab shows your favourites with up to four favourite tools and the third tab shows tools, with more access. Swipe left or right to adjust the value of the edit. New is a rotary button that has now been added. There are four tool choices available;
- Adjust and Correct : Adjust, Details, Tonality, Curves, White Balance, Colour, Lens Blur, Vignette
- Retouch and transform : Selective, Brush, Restore, Portrait, Cropping, Perspective, Expand, Head Position
- Style : Film, Glow, Retrolux, Vintage, Black and white, HDR landscape, Drama, Noir, Grunge
- Creative : Double exposure, frames and text
When the final update will be released for Android is not yet known.
