AI appears in many ways in everyday life. Many are familiar with ChatGPT or Google’s own AI tool Gemini. Google's new AI assistant is now coming to the Chrome internet browser, Google has announced.
Gemini in Chrome
Google's AI platform Gemini is coming to the Chrome browser. Google has announced that users will soon be able to interact with Gemini directly in their browsers. The power of this integration lies in the direct interaction with the content you, the user, are already viewing. Instead of switching between applications or copying text manually, Gemini can help you within the context of opened websites. To give an example; you are reading a recipe and you want to make a plant-based version of it, with extra protein, for example? You can indicate this in Gemini, after which the content can be adjusted accordingly.

Another important aspect is that Gemini can handle multiple tabs at the same time. In doing so, you can decide which tabs are relevant. Gemini can answer your questions with insight into the combined content from the different tabs. This saves time and allows you to combine complex information from different sources, without manually cutting and pasting.
With Gemini Live, Google extends these capabilities even further. This feature allows you to have a conversation about the open tabs via natural language, similar to how you would consult with a person. This way, you don't have to give Gemini new instructions all the time. You can find additional information about Gemini in Chrome in the video below.
