LG Magna
The LG Magna was released in 2015, a device from LG that does not necessarily have a rich history. The manufacturer came out with the announcement of this device a decade ago, along with three more models. Indeed, the mid-range segment also saw the release of the LG Spirit, LG Leon and LG Joy; devices that did not attract a lot of attention either. The design was very reminiscent of that of the LG G4, and other LG models around that time. In fact, LG provided the smartphones with volume buttons on the back instead of on the side. Both the power button and volume keys were positioned below the camera.

In Latin, the translation for the word 'Magna' is 'ultimate'. The smartphone had a compact design, as was common at the time. The smartphone also weighed only 137 grams, something that is different with many devices now. The device offered a 5.0-inch LCD display with HD resolution. On board was a MediaTek chipset, a quad-core processor with a maximum power of 1.3 GHz. Selfies were taken with the 5 megapixel camera, while at the back was an 8 megapixel camera. There was 3G network support, WiFi, Bluetooth and an FM radio. LG released the Magna with a 2540 mAh battery and it was swappable.

Over Android 5.0.1 Lollipop lay the proprietary LG Optimus UX 4.0 interface. This interface featured several so-called 'Smart features'. For instance, you could use Smart Notifications. This gave you personalised notifications for things like the weather based on your routine, including, for example, a travel schedule. LG Optimus UX 4.0 further offered the ability to create albums in the gallery based on time and location, and with Ringtone ID, a unique ringtone could be composed for each caller.
The LG Magna hit the market for 199 euros. Do you have any memories of this rather rare device?
